that "EVENT!!" is more like a tool to determine the motions to use from a spreadsheet of motions and the selection algo inside the event. It does not generate a real event that the tool can use which is why you get the error. This is poorly documented in the manual. The reason given in manual is that the events may not be PEER motions at all and so no downloads from the PEER database is possible!

It might be more useful of a tool, if we allowed the user to put the all the relevant .AT2 files mentioned in the csv file in the same directory that the .csv file is placed and then create an Event from the output of running the selection process. To actually use this feature, one would have to save the output and then manually create a multiple peer motion event using the output and providing the paths to the motions.

sorry for the confusion. let us know your thoughts on making it a full-fledged Event.

You can contact Prof. Lu. The 3D models are stick models. If using the MDOF_LU option it will create the models based on Hazus data as outlined in his papers and indeed his book. WUth R2D you can create your own OpenSees models for each building.

33

Not quite sure what  you are asking. The The MDOF_Lu model that is one of the options used in R2D creates a simple line model based on Hazus parameters. You can provide your own script to create models for the region based on building properties and as such you could use any data to create the models. The documentation for the MDOF_LU model and indeed the theory behind how the models are created can be found in papers by Prof. Xinzheng Lu. His papers can be found on his website: http://www.luxinzheng.net/

Can you run it locally with 2 samples and zip up your ~/Documents/EE-UQ/LocalWorkdir/tmp.SimCenter directory. thanks

some of examples already do 3d simulation os simple building models. You need to be a bit more specific in explaining what it is you want to do.

Regional Hazard Simulation (R2D, rWhale) / Re: RUN at DesignSafe
« on: February 13, 2023, 08:32:27 PM »
I just ran all the examples .. i upped the time on all to 30mins, except example 6 which needed 60mins to run. All, with the exception of E5 (the openseespy problem with which the version of openseespy installed on designsafe causes issues) run at designsafe with the increased minutes given.

Try Example 2 with a larger time allocation. If it fails go
1)  to the designsafe portal website & login
2) under workspace menu select Tool and applications.
3) It will bring up page with a vertical grey vertical bar with Job Status text at top of it on the right.
4) expand the vertical bar by clicking on the little arrow at the top. It will now show all your recently submitted jobs.
4) beside each is a little box "More Info' . Select it for one job, e.g. E2 you just ran.
5) That brings up a new dialog, with some options. Select 'View"
6) That should bring you to a folder in DataDepot where the files created by the running workflow are stored. Include the .err and .out files in an attachment (or read them yourself to see if you can discern the error).

NOTE: A job marked as "Stopped' probably was not given enough time to run.

PS. I have update the exe at the website, version 2.1.3 that defaults to 1 hour for all examples.

i have uploaded another .zip file .. sorry but it may not be the last .. the missing dll's are coming from qgis and the .dllls you have from conda are in conflict which is the reason for a number of those errors related to conda

40
I have also just uploaded a new version of the zip file. it should say version 2.1.2

41
you were missing some stuff (e.g. units with motion, ..) and your nearest neighbour search was asking for 4 neighbours and you only had 2 motions .. attached is the updated input file for what you sent.

I have just uploaded a new version 2.1.2 .. it should work .. the problem was that if the login button top right was not used before the run remote button was pressed no R2D folder was being created

I have just uploaded a new exe (2.1.2) .. the problem with the file failing to upload was caused by not forcing the use of the login button to log in (we had popped up a login window if user had not logged in when running remotely .. but this missed a step and if user had not logged in previously no R2D folder existed and hence the error .. so I have disabled that feature)

what operating system are you working with? and what version of the tool?? also can you use the designsafe portal to log in, use data depot and see if you have an R2D folder in your home dir.

you need to go to the Preferences panel and hiut the reset button. python is included with the app. If the app is in: C:\SimCenter\R2D_Windows_Download then that should also be the path top the backend apps .. the path to Python, OpenSees and Dakota should contain that path plus a single applications folder .. if fddouble just edit the entries and press save.
