Hello Abiy,

Many thanks for your response. I wanted to run the quick test in page 13 of the help document (which is attached). I have also included the Preferences dialog window as you requested.
I appreciate your help.

Best,
Foe

Hello,

Thank you for raising this issue. Can you provide more information on which example you tried running? It would be great if you start testing your installation with the first example - "9-Story Building Sampling".

In the meantime, can you also provide a screenshot of the File->Preferences dialog window, which will help us better figure out where the error happened?

Best,
Abiy

Wind Engineering (WE-UQ) / Error in Testing WE-UQ
« Last post by fmnav on December 06, 2023, 03:47:19 PM »
Hi,

I am facing an error when I want to test the WE-UQ application based on the provided instructions. I successfully installed the application and the corresponding tests are implemented according to the first attachment.
However, I encounter the following error (which is also attached) after running the application for the simple example provided in the documentation:

No dakota.err file - Dakota did not run - problem with the setup or the applications failed with inputs provided

Can any one help me with this?

Hi,

Thank you for posting the issue. To help us figure out the solution, can you please share with us
  • A screenshot that shows the list of the files inside the directory "{LocalWorkdir}/tmp.SimCenter/templatedir" where {LocalWorkdir} refers to the Local Jobs Directory which can be found by clicking, in the menu bar of quoFEM, File-Preference
  • Dakota.in file (under "{LocalWorkdir}/tmp.SimCenter") - if found
  • scInput.json file (under "{LocalWorkdir}/tmp.SimCenter/templatedir") - if found

Best,

Hi Jiyan,
I have two questions:
1) In Hurricane Scenario Simulation, I can not select an area on the map for hurricane track, I specify the location by the lines but how can I close it?
2)I am trying to run a scenario in User Specify Ground Motion, I set all input correctly (The CSV file of Regional Building Inventory, The event file listing motion, and the folder containing motion which are getting from tools --->Earthquake Scenario Simulation, MOD---> None, ANA---> IMasEDP,
DL---> Pelicun, UQ---> None )
But I get the error with this content: - There was an error in the python process backend, the exit code is 1

Uncertainty Quantification (quoFEM) / Re: Parallel execution on a Windows HPC

Hi,

Thanks for teh update. I believe I should be still able to use the interface and call all the 128 cores, so the sampling and opensees analyses will be done and then using those results, I should be able to calculate the mean, standard deviation and other outputs separately.

But, hopefully, this issue can be fixed at some point.

Thank you so much for revisiting the previous tests! The test was immensely helpful as it clarified that the limitation comes from the UQ engine rather than the interface.

I apologize for the late reply - I was out of the office last week. In the meantime, our team made some effort to find a workaround, but unfortunately, we could not find an immediate solution, especially without being able to reproduce the error. Also, the source of issue is related to the internal function of Dakota program, which is slightly beyond SimCenter's development focus. It seems like we cannot provide a solution at this point.

However, we will keep you posted in case of further updates.

Thanks again,
Sang-ri
