This app has a great and truly well designed aesthetic; however, the banner at the bottom of the screen seems unreasonably large and slightly unwarranted.
Rational- On some small or wide computer screens, the interface can be somewhat crowded, leaving a short and disproportionate space for the plots in the results tab and at times a nearly unreadable aspect ratio.
- There is very little justification for any branding on the application itself, considering that it is only seen after the user has already went through the lengthy process of installing and running the program.
- Branding on the face of an application is rarely seen in commercial software
Suggestion:
Remove logo banner entirely, rely on favicon for branding. Reallocate the space for a status bar. If it is possible to make this status bar similar in size to that at the bottom of commercial apps like MS Excel or SAP, than this can considerably alleviate the plot aspect ratio issues in the results tab and create a much cleaner presentation. If branding is absolutely necessary, consider consolidating it to a small corner and drastically reducing the font size of the grant number statement.
