This error message is somewhat misleading since it suggests that version 3.9 should be fine, but you’re still facing issues. Given the erratic behavior (it worked before, now it doesn’t), there might be other underlying issues such as environment misconfiguration or software updates.

It looks like you're facing an issue with the PBE analysis due to an undefined number of stories, even though they appear in the general information table. The error suggests a NoneType object is causing a loop failure in the code. To resolve this, check if the input data includes valid story definitions. Meanwhile, if you're in need of a fun diversion, try the online slope game where you can skillfully navigate challenges just like you're navigating your coding troubles!

Hello Bofan,

Thanks for posting. To help us track the error, can you provide us with the "Remote Application Directory" and "Tapis App" values in the R2D preferences? For example, my Tapis App ID is "simcenter-rWhale-stampede3-1.0.0u1".

Thanks,

Jinyan

Installation / Re: Installing using HyperV as Linux host instead of WSL
« Last post by abiy on August 14, 2024, 08:24:40 PM »
Thank you for your interest in WE-UQ. The current version of the software runs only with the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL). However, your simulation should still operate as expected without WSL since all the CFD simulations are run on the remote server in DesignSafe. The only limitation is that you might not be able to visualize the mesh and geometry. We recognize this as an opportunity to enhance WE-UQ, and we will consider integrating support for other Linux VMs in the future. Thank you for your feedback.

Thank you for you response.

I have another question is that I am doing damage and loss analysis just like example 1 with Designsafe. However, when designsafe finished the analysis, I could just get a result zip file containing log files and asset json files, which means I cannot find any results files recording repair cost and recovery time.

I would appreciate a lot if you can give me some hints!

Installation / Installing using HyperV as Linux host instead of WSL
« Last post by rswitt on August 08, 2024, 05:47:24 PM »
We don't support WSL here, as it is basically unmanageable (i.e. impossible to ensure the virtual OS is patched and secure).  We setup a Linux VM on Hyper-V instead, if needed.

I don't see any description or settings on how the front end connects to the backend, and if there are settings to tell it what the backend settings are.  Is it possible to specify a hostname and credentials for it to use to connect to a Hyper-V Linux VM?

Sorry .. DesignSafe is about to revamp their software with an updated Tapis, TapisV3 tomorrow morning. It looks like some service related to how our apps login has already been changed. We will start uploading new apps tomorrow afternoon that utilizes the new interface as the RESTful API calls have all changed and how the apps are run also changes (they now run under your own account and not mine). It will mean some changes on your end, new inputs and you may have to submit a ticket to designsafe to get an allocation. I will repost when R2D is up and avail.

Hi,

When I try to login in Designsafe in Simcenter R2D user interface, it shows me the error message: ERROR: Unable to generate credentials for appClient.

This bug has suddenly happened from yesterdaty, and I could use Designsafe smoothly with R2D user interface before.

Could you give me some hints about how to figure out this problem?

Thanks

Performance Based Engineering (PBE) / REDi assessment questions
« Last post by Nikoch on May 11, 2024, 08:14:44 AM »
Hi PBE + REDi team,

I am using PBE plus REDi in a single-level building and I get an approximate downtime of 1282 days. But then, when I check the 'Redi_input' output folder I find more than 140 files. Then, when I run each file separately in PyREDi (python script) it gives me different results for each file (310 days approx). Why this difference in days or how should I execute the pyredi, what input should I use?

Thank you very much for your support of the community,
